Engraved signature and numbering
This bronze is based on a figure from an oil painting that I created for my 2005 Jonathan LeVine Gallery show (a gicleé print of the painting is available here as well). At that time a toy company that I’d worked with suggested making a vinyl toy out of the central figure. We worked with the great sculptor Colin Batty to make a brilliant maquette, but the toy was never produced. Several years later, Tucson’s amazing Metalphysics foundry offered to upscale the maquette and create an edition of twelve 3-foot tall sculptures.
